First Anniversary

Friday, July 9th, 2004

*Big applause*
Yupz, first anniversary. For me that is. This weblog has existed in this time/space/internet continuum for exactly one year now. Not a lot happened in that year though. No lawsuits. No death threats. Then again, with 3 visitors a day, I can’t really boast a money generating banner advertisement construction yet. Let’s just say I’m not giving up my day job just yet.
Incidentally, fellow blogger DaXXie has a weblog that beats mine by roughly 10 hours. Happy anniversary nonetheless. Then again, I was busy building my own webserver, installing software and so forth, so I could host for another fellow blogger Ezri a few weeks before that. So I beat him back.
Then again, judging by his posts’ id, he’s on his 500+ posts already, while I’m closing in at around 490, making it well above 1.3 posts a day. Then THEN again again, his id’s tend to jump a few numbers up now and then (either by his incompetence or his intention to cheat) while mine steadily increases by 1. Guess I beat him again. Then then then again again again, a wise man once said (that, would be me of course), the more you say, the higher the probability you’re gonna spill some major bullcrap. So I’ll stop now.

A few open questions this time. Let the laughs begin (as the answers I usually receive resemble elephants throwing darts):

1. Most people settle for just one slice of cheese or a microscopic layer of peanut butter on their bread. I for one, keep the saying “let every day be a party” alive, and don’t settle for that. Be it a spread, a sprinkle or a few slices of dead animal, I use A LOT MORE than the average dough eating human being. As most people probably don’t even know how much exactly they put on their sandwich, let alone prepare it themselves, this should prove a difficult K-uestion: How many grams (approximately) goes on my bread (hint: I usually have 4 slices of bread, or 2 buns for lunch) ?

2. Name my favorite nuts. I have two of them. No really, I mean the kind of nuts you eat, name them.

White

Wednesday, July 7th, 2004

As my colleagues pointed at my hair, they were laughing in my face. Something about being old and stress and stuff. As I didn’t believe them, and I didn’t have two mirrors within reach, I let them take a picture of it.
What a shock. I knew I was a wise man, but I thought I could do it with a nice deep dark black hairdo. Apparently not.

Review: Pringles – Spring Onion & Feta

Wednesday, June 30th, 2004

Matching it to the Pringles norm, it’s not that impressive. The taste is very bland, with no Onion to be found. The Feta part is so weak, I’m not sure if I’m imagining things. Think of it as the normal Cheese Onion flavor with moderation in applying the flavor. Lotsa moderation. The texture, is as usual, the same as always.
Part of the Pringles World tour, Greece’s entry isn’t really the one to write home about.6-.

What the … ?

4.35 am: I woke up, had to take a leak.
4.37 am: Back in bed. Still got some 3 hours of sleep left.
4.38 am: Something prevents me from finding my zen. Or something. It’s outside. Chirping away like a happy bird. Ow wait, it is a bird. Singing. Actually, it’s a few birds, all singing their own tune.
5.07 am: I’m slightly dozing off… I think they finally stopped singing.

WHY ARE BIRDS UP AND SINGING SO EARLY ??? Shouldn’t they at least wait till sunrise ?

Keep your wives and girlfriends in check pleez…

Men used to buy the DVD player. Men used to buy the DVD’s. But recent demographics show the ladies are taking almost 50% of the decisions now. They already had the remote surgically implanted into their right hands, with their hours of The Bold and the Beautiful and As the Worlds Turns and more stuff like that. We can’t have them buy most of the DVD’s too ? We don’t need all those Sex and the City DVD boxes cluttering our nice collection ! What we men need right now, is a few good ideas how to limit their control, back to those days 7 years ago, when they put the DVD in a CD-player and waited for the sound to come out of the speakers. Come on ! You got any ?

1. I voted:
a. CDA
b. PvdA
c. GroenLinks
d. SP

2. One in all question. Concerning Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony:
– They will never go public with this fact.
– Their marriage won’t last till end of this year.
– Marc is chicken-shit, and won’t be honest with Jennifer, never telling her she really can’t sing. They will even release a duet together.

a. all true
b. all false

3. Talk about singing. Where in the house do I sing the most and the loudest, and why especially there ?

It’s our Europe y’know

Thursday, June 10th, 2004

Guess people aren’t vote-ish today. Maybe the European Parliament doesn’t sound inviting or something. I was the only one at that particular time this morning. The whole voting booth just for myself. And from the looks of it, not a lot went before me, and it didn’t look like a whole lot more were coming this way. My special prediction senses say the people who will be voting will lie far below the 45%.
So, what about you ? You gave up the right to vote too ?

I just finished the Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban PC game. Took about 3 days, combined to roughly 15 hours of play time. Does this mean I’m damn good, or did I just finish a children’s game ?

*Tick* *tock*

Someone tampered with my internal bio-clock. I already noticed it in the weekend, when I could get my usual 10 to 12 hours of sleep. But on the working days it became even more clearer. Known for sleeping through fires and bombs, I always have 2 alarms armed. But these days I jump off my bed, shockingly looking at the light shining through the window. In a panic move I reach for the alarms and read the time, my brains can’t comprehend it all. Again, it’s somewhere between 6.30 and 7.00. Roughly an hour to go. With some effort, I can still try to catch up on that hour. But still… it’s weird. DAMN you ALIENS !!!

Again

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2004

They got to me again. I woke up in the middle of the night with a mighty cramp in my left leg, and as a result I still have pain, probably because of the reaction to the pain which caused me to strain some muscles there. Then there’s also a small wound on my hand I can’t explain.

Why me ? Why always me, you damn aliens ! Abduct someone else will ya ?
